Winter Wedding Update: Vegan Cupcake Tasting Extravaganza!
Posted in Videos on 05. Nov, 2009

Remember when I shared my tips for putting together a vegan wedding menu? Â Well since my all-vegan wedding celebration is coming up in March (yes, it’s a Canadian winter wedding), I wanted to update everyone on the food planning progress. Specifically: the cupcakes!
Instead of having a traditional wedding cake, my partner Jason and I have opted to go with a tower of cupcakes. Why? Well as many of you know, cupcakes are just the perfect dessert: beautiful, compact, delicious, and easy to eat/serve! When I found Dee and Kristin of Ottawa’s Three Cheers Cupcakes, I just knew I had found the perfect people to provide cupcakes for our celebration.
By far, the best part of planning our wedding was our cupcake tasting session!  Not only were Dee and Kristin the sweetest gals, we tried some DEElicious cupcakes and had the *ahem* difficult task of narrowing down our choices to just four flavors. We tried varieties such as peppermint, lemon, chocolate with vanilla icing, and german chocolate with coconut icing, whew! In the end, we narrowed it down to:
- Toasted Butterscotch Pecan (my fave!)
- Chocoholic
- Chai Latte
- Strawberry Fields (with real strawberries in the icing and filling)
And we are also setting aside a special dozen gluten-free cupcakes for our gluten-free guests! Â We hope our friends and family enjoy these special vegan cupcakes as much as we do. Â Visit the Three Cheers Cupcakes website to learn more about this awesome bakery and stay tuned to VEGdaily to see how the big day unfolds!
