A Serial Cereal-Eater Finds Comfort In Homemade Granola
Posted in Videos on 08. Oct, 2009

Remember my morning cereal woes? How I am addicted to cereal and yet saddened that it is near impossible to find a healthy option. So this week I tried making my own granola for the first time and I am in love! I can’t stop eating it!
I started with a basic recipe for raw maple flax granola that I found on another vegan blog. Since I can’t just follow a recipe, I added about 1/3 cup of cracked wheat and cut the maple syrup with some agave. I didn’t feel like pulling out my dehydrator, so I went the 200 degree oven route. The result is pure deliciousness!
Each bowl I eat is customized with some additional ingredients: This morning I added a variety of dried berries and sunflower seeds, and for dessert I mixed in goji berries, coconut flakes, and chia seeds.
I’m already excited for my next bowl … I’m thinking dates and almonds. What do you think I should add?
