Are you crazy obsessed with the VEG lifestyle? Then I bet you’re super jealous that I’m spending my whole weekend at the HSUS’s Taking Action for Animals Conference in Arlington, VA.
If you don’t know already, the Taking Action for Animals Conference is an annual event presented by the HSUS to help animal lovers become better activists. Sounds pretty great, right?
The morning started with some really interesting workshops from experts across the field, including a talk by Emmy-winning writer Carol Leifer about her journey becoming an “animal person.”
Up next we chatted with Nellie McKay, gave a high-five to VEGdaily blogger Sally Andersen, and learned how to be better Twitterers (thanks, Allie!).
Of course we couldn’t miss touring the Exhibit Hall where tons of animal organizations have set up shop for the afternoon. After lap one we had already said hello to Karen Dawn, author of Thanking The Monkey, Josh Hooten from Herbivore Clothing Company, all our friends at Farm Sanctuary, the aweomse peeps from For The Animals Sanctuary and a trillion hardworkers from the HSUS.
Stay tuned for more entries as the day continues and make sure you follow us on Twitter for all the latest updates. Happy TAFA, everyone!
