Constantly torn between tasting the rainbow and living a cruelty-free life? Well dry those baby eyes — your troubles are over!

News broke this week on the blog scene that Skittles have officially gone vegan. (Cue: thunderous applause.)

The candy is already VEG in other countries and we knew it was only a matter of time before they ditched the gelatin here in the states.

Keep in mind that there will probably be a transition time in grocery stores, so make sure you read those ingredients before digging in. Happy snacking!

What was in them that wasn’t vegan? Aren’t they still tested on animals though?

Skittles contain gelatin which is derived from the collagen inside animals’ skin and bones. It is commonly used as a gelling agent in food, pharmaceuticals, photography, and cosmetic manufacturing.

I luuuurve skittles so this is great news. However, I am pretty sure Mars tests on animals.

You might want to let people know Mars tests on animals. They may be vegan, but they’re not good for your ethics.
