The True Meaning of Tofu: I Love “To Eff You”
Are you a tofu lover? If you live in Colorado you might not be able to declare your love for the VEG staple on your license plate.
The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) rejected 38-year-old vegan and mother of three Kelley Coffman-Lee’s request for the personalized plate “ILVTOFU” because of the possibility of the code being offensive to some people. Apparently, the FU letter combo is never allowed because “some people could read that as street language for sex,” said Mark Couch, spokesman for the Department of Revenue.
I’m not sure that I’ll ever be able to read the name of the soy product without saying “to eff you” again thanks to this odd case of censorship.
