Attention Locavores! Your iPhone Seasonal Food App Has Arrived.
Posted in Products on 24. Mar, 2009

Last week, we remarked about the cool VEGOut app for the iPhone/iTouch that can assist folks in finding vegan or vegetarian-friendly restaurants near their location. Now, a new app called Locavore aims to do something similar — but with advice on local, seasonal foods — and what Farmer’s Markets to find them at. Treehugger gives us some additional details:
“The $2.99 Locavore app is a great solution for someone who wants to switch to local eating and doesn’t want to spend an hour on the computer researching food each time they want to make a meal. It offers government and NGO data for each state, and when you click on a food item, it brings up Wikipedia information and Epicurious recipes.”
And then, from LifeHacker:
“Locavore also does a decent job of using your i-gadget’s location awareness to find nearby farmers’ markets and offer the details on them.”
These iPhone apps just keep getting cooler and cooler. To pick up your own copy, hit the app link here.
